Ah Boys to Men 2 - 新兵正传 II (2013)
It's like watching a 2-hour corporate video disguised as a movie with some decent performances and scenes that do not add up to a bigger picture. Overall, this film left me with a bad post-viewing aftertaste.

The Grandmaster - 一代宗师 (2013)
Now I'm curious to watch the Berlin edit.
Wished I had caught the Cantonese version though. :(

Hitchcock (2012)
Nice! One of the most entertaining dramas I've watched in awhile. Hopkins sizzles in his role, and so does Mirren. Love the script too!

The Master (2012)
Amazingly boring yarn that's probably the worst cinematic viewing experience I had since Greedy Ghost.
Amazingly, no one in the audience was talking throughout the whole film - which I appreciated.

Quartet (2012)
One of the nicest light dramas I've watched it a while. The cast is one of the strongest reasons to catch this, especially Pauline Collins, who lights up every scene she appears in. The ending, while not what I expected, did put a big smile on my face as I watched the credits roll.

Taxi! Taxi! - 德士当家 (2013)
Not too bad. Story is almost absent, but there's some genuinely entertaining bits. Lovely chemistry between Mark Lee and Dr. Jiajia.

Silver Linings Playbook (2012)
Nice! Really enjoyed it. One of the best romances I've watched in a while. David O. Russell does what he does best with fun, engaging and squabbling characters. Helps that the film is anchored by strong performances from Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro and Jacki Weaver.

Bullet to the Head (2013)
Stallone was fun to follow, but the co-lead was wrongly cast and the film did fall into the trap of being a bit boring.
The Sessions (2012)
Not bad. Quiet little film that delights with a funny, light script and great performances - not just from the leads but every single performer in the film.
