Resurrection《狂野时代》(2025)

Probably the most impressive film I've seen this year in terms of visuals and sound. My eyelids were trying to keep open after a while (was I just tired, or was it the film?). I managed to perk up during the last chapter, which was an amazing choreographed one take visual wonder.  Definitely one of the most interesting films I've seen this year, although I was kind of lost a bit when it came to the story.

Tokyo Taxi (2025)

I did not expect to enjoy this simple story as much as I did. Definitely one of my most favorite films of the year. And also two of my most favorite performances.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (2025)

About half way through, I thought this was a dumbed down version of the detective. At the end, I thought this stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the previous installments in terms of how entertaining and satisfying this was, and the detective ain't that dumb after all. Josh O'Connor shines in this one. Glenn Close is pretty good too,     

Al Awda (2024)

Not bad. Found it informative. The director's narration felt a bit heavy compared with the main parts that featured some of the others on the trip. I learned much, and am amazed by the coherence of the narration considering that some footage went missing.

The Wedding Banquet (2025)

Blah. I found this draggy and the storytelling plain. I don't feel much chemistry between the male couple. The story also does not build towards any huge banquet, making me think they could have changed the title to something else. There is potential of what this remake could have been, but it just felt short. Youn Yuh-Jong steals all the scenes she's in though. 
 

Wicked: For Good (2025)

I liked the production design. And I also cried a bit (but not as much as the first one). However, the characters do some really stupid things and come across as more generic. And I find that I don't really like this one as much as I did Act One. 
 

Sisu: Road to Revenge (2025)

I think I liked the first one better. But this one still has the same feel and is ridiculously entertaining.
