The Midnight After - 那夜凌晨,我坐上了旺角開往大埔的紅van (2014)

Kinda long, and the film left me with more questions, and it drifts from character to character without a hint of who I should follow after a while. But it remains an oh so fun thriller that I won't hesitate to recommend.

Aberdeen - 香港仔 (2014)

A very Hong Kong film in terms of social culture. Probably the strongest visually amongst all of Pang Ho-Cheung's films (that I managed to watch). But I didn't dig that the characters are so obsessed with looks. Gigi Leung's performance stood out for me, and I enjoyed the dream sequence that Miriam Yeung's character was caught in.

Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)

The visuals and audio weren't the best one can get on a plane, but this was riveting enough to get me hooked from start to finish. Enjoyed lots!

Philomena (2013)

Strong performances and witty dialogues. I really like this one.

Saving Mr. Banks (2013)

Is a bit boring for my tastes. Other than that, Emma Thompson and Annie Rose Buckley give poignant performances, the cinematography is lovely and beneath that surface of what I personally found dull, is a poignant tale of a daughter's relationship with her father.

Not too bad.

Nebraska (2013)

IMHO, a really cool poster and one of the coolest family films for mature audiences that I've watched. :)
