IMHO - not as well paced as the first two Sam Raimi flicks. Also missing some fan fav elements. This film being rebooted so soon after the previous version doesn't help. Overall, some good things - like intelligent dialogue, but probably not as kid-friendly as the last incarnation. Not too far off from Brian Wood's
Demo graphic novel in terms of tone. Reminds me a bit of
Chronicle too.
