Caught this on video. A well executed thriller - one that's not easily forgettable nor for the faint hearted.

True Grit (2010)

Not a bad film, but I failed to be engaged by the story, and was irritated by the main character. Was struggling to keep awake around the middle. Overall, I didn't really enjoy this one.

Winter's Bone (2010)

Came in with excited expectations. Struggled to stay awake during first half. A strongly acted film. This one strays far from mainstream commercial fare and its slow pace and lack of pandering to generic film tastes makes this a film not for everyone.

Liked it, even though I was struggling to keep awake throughout most of this flat and monotonous supernatural art film.

Homecoming - 笑着回家 (2011)

Not too bad. Story could have been tighter. The mother and son traveling to KL was the funniest story of the lot.

Love & Other Drugs (2010)

Hated the idiotic family who made small talk throughout. Hated the couple beside making small whispers now and then. The film was screening in the wrong aspect ratio and had to get a cinema staff to correct the problem. These things make me dread watching a movie in a cinema. Otherwise, this was a nice romanticized movie for adults with great performances and generous doses of bare skin.
