The Theory of Everything (2014)

Teared loads. Probably one of the best performances I've seen on film. Eddie Redmaye is incredible and so too is Felicity Jones. Lovely score too.

Birdman (2014)

Not sure I like.

I liked Emma Stone and Edward Norton's performances. Thought the sound design and score worked well. There was a scene that gave me the feeling that a man can fly. Love the giant bird robot monster attack.

But I didn't really dig the main character or his story that much.

Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain (2014)

Not bad.

The Taking of Tiger Mountain - 智取威虎山 (2014)

Not too bad but is essentially a movie made for the China market. Visual effects are pretty good, and there's an extravagant alternate sequence that screams of the excesses of some Bollywood flicks. Zhang Hanyu is pretty good in his role as Yang Zirong. Some minor flaws (IMHO) fall into the category of "convenience for entertainment's sake".

Into the Woods (2014)

Boring.

Parasyte Part 1 (2014)

Not too bad.

Taken 3 (2015)

Went in with low expectations. A generic thriller but one that mostly hits the right spots. And no disturbances in the theatre! So the viewing experience was an A while the film gets a B+.

Bring Back the Dead - 招魂 (2015)

Don't like it. Storyline needs more work. Didn't care for the characters. Score was one of the better bits of this film. Overall a bleah.

Trash (2014)

Can't say I buy the plot totally but the film kept me engaged for the most part and I had almost the whole theatre to myself and me pals with absolutely no disturbances. Ah.. :)
