Thirteen Lives (2022)

Pretty well-made drama. Told mainly from the perspective of two volunteer cave diver rescuers.

Prey (2022)

I don't really fancy the violence and gore, but I thought this was a pretty tight and well-made thriller. I watched the version where the Comanche spoke in English, and that took me out of it somewhat.

Not Okay (2022)

I was sold on this by the trailer. The film was all right but if I try to over think, it may actually be touching on a lot of territories like gun control, social media, etc; and some bits feel a little under-served. At the heart of it, is a main character who's from a privileged background (sort of), who fucks up, and then has to deal with the consequences. The closing scene, I liked cos it kinds of hints at a positive growth for the character. In fact, the second half probably benefits from the build-up. Overall, this was all right.

Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) - IMAX 3D

Mixed feelings about this. Some bits I like. But overall, this is just fluff that's low on substance. I did like Zeus and the use of songs by Guns N Roses.

Jurassic World: Dominion (2022) - IMAX

Felt theme park-ish.  Instead of building on how the last movie ended with the dinosaurs now walking across the globe, this one goes back to lots of running with little to push the story line further into any new territory.

Fire Island (2022)

Light fluff, but not too bad.
